Do you require a deposit for booking an appointment at the spa?
Since it is important that we accommodate our clients and provide the adequate amount of time per service, we require appointments, although walk ins are welcome for Hair Services. For our guests, we require a credit card or gift certificate number for booking an appointment, and a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. Those who fail to honor this policy will be charged 50% of the cost of all treatments booked.
Since we offer specialized services that require our providers to plan their work schedules in advance, we do ask for a 50% deposit when scheduling services. Deposits can be paid by credit card or by supplying your gift certificate number.
What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
To cancel or reschedule a reservation, please contact us at least 24 hours prior to service. We request a 48 hour notice for any Spa service or multiple service appointment.
Will my deposit be refunded if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Yes, provided that proper notice was provided (see above policy). If you do not cancel within the required time frame, a 50% charge for the requested service(s) will apply.
I have an appointment for a waxing service. What should I do prior to arrival?
Please allow at least ¼ inch of hair growth prior to your reservation. Also, on the day of your waxing avoid using any moisturizer.
Please note that if you are using Retin-A, Differin, Renova, Accutane,
blood thinning drugs, certain antibiotics, or alpha hydroxy products,
please check with your doctor, as you may not be fit for waxing
services while on such medications. In addition, guests with conditions
such as diabetes, pregnancy, skin disorders and auto- immune
disorders should check with their doctors prior to their visit.
Are gift certificates available?
Yes, gift certificates are available in any amount, and may be used for any combination of Salon and Day Spa services. We also offer Instant Gift Certificates which can be customized, viewed, and printed directly from this website. They're perfect for last-minute gifts!

I bought a gift certificate for one of your packages, but the package is no longer available (or the price has changed). What happens now?
Gift Certificates, including our Instant Gift Certificates, work just like cash. They can be redeemed for Scruples Day Spa and Hair Salon services up to the dollar amount printed on the certificate. If your certificate is for a particular Day Spa package, and that package is no longer offered, then you may use the certificate to purchase other Day Spa services up to the dollar amount printed on the certificate. If there has been a price increase for the package you purchased, then the old price prevails if the certificate is redeemed within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, the additional amount will be charged.
I have a gift certificate for $100, but I only used $80 in services. Can I get a cash refund for the $20 balance?
No, state laws prohibit cash refunds on gift certificates. However, our gift certificates do not expire so you can always use the balance on your next visit to the spa.
Can I bring my children with me?
For safety reasons, and to maintain an environment of relaxation and tranquility, it is not advisable to bring children to the Day Spa. Children may, however, visit the salon if accompanied by an adult.
What should I do with my valuables during my visit?
Please keep all valuables with you during your visit. We regret that we cannot be responsible for the loss or damage to personal articles or accessories.
Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes. At the spa we accept Mastercard and Visa only. When purchasing gift certificates from our website you can also use American Express and Discover.
Do you accept personal checks?
We gladly accept personal checks with the proper identification. However, a $30 fee will be charged if the check is returned for any reason.
Are group bookings available?
Absolutely! We will personally arrange any group booking requests that you may have - four to ten persons, desiring three or more services each. A 50% non-refundable deposit will be required and a gratuity of 20% will be added.
Can I make arrangements for a series of recurring, or standing appointments?
Certainly, just tell us what time works best for you! We are at your service to find the best time in your schedule for booking your regular appointments, whether it be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Do you offer any corporate incentives?
For organizations of 20 or more employees, we provide a 10% discount in both our Salon and Day Spa. The employee just needs to provide us with their corporate identification card. Please have your Human Resource department contact us at (860) 763-1800 to establish your company account.
What is your policy regarding the use of Cell Phones or pagers?
Our Day Spa is a sanctuary for health and relaxation. Therefore, we kindly ask guests to turn off their cell phones and pagers during their visit to the Spa.
Is smoking allowed on the premises?
No, however there are outdoor areas where smoking is permitted.
